FLOWERS OF EVIL

 

An Old-West botanist becomes fascinated with rare flowers consecrated by an Indian god of evil. He sees (or imagines) the flowers becoming women, and he becomes so besotted with them that his jealous wife tries to destroy the blooms. The botanist kills her, but the murdered woman appears among the flower-harem and kills him-- though the "realistic" explanation is that he was killed by breathing poisonous fumes.

This sequence from 1955 doesn't involve Blondie doing anything to Dagwood, though the ladies' club thrashing him thinks they're acting on her behalf.

GHOST SADIST MIKAMI #25

 "And now it's time to say goodbye--" Yes, I've now reached the end of the GSM series, and it wraps up with the following scenes:

A Vatican vanquishing in "The Unsilence of the Lambs."

"Beach slaps" in "History's Greatest War at the Beach."

From "I Will Protect You" (obviously not anything pertaining to Yokoshima or Mikami).  

And though the last proper episode of GSM didn't focus on the Mikami-Yokoshima relationship, Takashi Shiina got to bring the two comic characters back for one more sadistic encounter in a 2011 story, "Break Your Destiny," which summed up the perverse duo's nature.  


 

GHOST SADIST MIKAMI #24

 Assorted scenes from "The Longest Day," except the first, in which Mikami discovers that her ancestor Mephisto had a thing for Yokoshima's ancestor (and even slugged him the same way). Then Mikami meets Mephisto's creator Ashtaroth, who regards himself as her creator as well. Don't know who Mikami's mortal father was, but she uses the demon to resolve her daddy issues.

After the defeat of Ashtaroth, Mikami and company encounter an Ashtaroth lookalike, apparently a human, in "Puzzling Shadow." Yokoshima starts dating the cute demon Luciola, but can't resist coming on to Mikami in front of his girlfriend, which earns him a double beatdown.

 

GHOST SADIST MIKAMI #23

 In "The Right Stuff," we have a contrast between Old Yokoshima, who was stupid enough to tackle Mikami based on "hormones," and New Yokoshima, who become adept enough in battle that he almost bests Mikami in combat, though he loses because he holds back.

 

GHOST SADIST MIKAMI #22

 In "Another Tragedy on Valentine's Day," both Yokoshima and his rival Saijou eat magically-treated Valentine's chocolates, with the result that every woman who sees them, wants to kill them.

But Mikami's Valentine's wrath is nothing next to her fury in "Stranger Than Paradise," when a time-traveler reveals her destiny, to marry Yokoshima within the next ten years. Fortunately, an amnesia contrivance allows both Mikami and Yokoshima to forget the prophecy and return to the status quo. (Mikami evidently forgot her earlier statement that she might reconsider Yokoshima as a suitor if he "manned up.")
