WORLD'S FLATTEST
The Bat gets flattened by a fashion model in WORLDS FINEST 236. Okay, the stylishly named "Liza Faraday" is really a space disease in human form, but still.

NOT HIS FIRST TIME
Even though this item dates back to 1946, it's probably not even close to the first time Archie made a date with two girls and got clobbered for it.

PLUS SIZED PERVERSIONS
No culture on this planet has ever been as devoted to perversions, particularly of a clansgressive nature, as the Japanese, judging only by their manga. One example is a short-lived series called SIS PLUS, concerning a family whose parents are presumably deceased, since the four siblings-- an older brother and his three younger sisters-- eke out their living with a cake shop. The brother's never given a name except "Onee-chan," which means "brother," two of the girls, Shiho and Cocoa, are teenagers, and the last, Himeka, is said to be in elementary school by the translation but she looks more like a middle schooler. The comic gimmick is that Onee is fiercely protective of his sisters, fighting any male who comes near them, though he himself has no boundaries, insisting that his sibs should bathe with him or searching their private belongings for incriminating evidence, as in the scene below.
Cocoa and Himeka often just humor their crazy brother, but Shiho frequently protests the crossed boundaries by beating up Onee. She gets a job doing anime voice-work, and in one of the scenes below, she clobbers Onee so that he won't hear a recording for which she made "sex sounds."In the second story, a clandestine terrorist group kidnaps Himeka, who's a genius and whom they think they can use for making weapons. Himeka rather easily falls in with the group, seeming to "brainwash" herself, and when Onee comes to her rescue, Himeka repeatedly pounds him with a big hammer. This is one indication that Himeka might be older than elementary school, since both she and Onee seem to be "getting into" the violence, until Shiho terminates the domme-play by punching Onee.

RING THAT BELLE!
Here's Buffalo Belle, making an owlhoot's head do the ringing. I also note that she has a somewhat more impressive rack than most comics-females of the period. She appeared in most/all issues of ACG's BLAZING WEST. Added later:
JUNGLE GALLERY
Despite her Polynesian-looking attire, zombie queen Tiana does her corpse-calling in a Brazilian jungle, courtesty of OUT OF THE NIGHT #13.

SOCK-A-BILLY
Magnolia, the one flower in the dungheap family "The MacSleezys," appeared in all four issues of Charlton's HILLBILLY COMICS (1955), and she showed off her sock-a-billy skills in two stories.

FOXY PHANTOM PT. 3
And with this post I conclude my "study," with the finding that all of the Fox Phantom Ladies are completely G-rated for sex and violence, just using a little more leg and boob action for the heroine than one saw in most Golden Age heroine-features. However, now that I've surveyed all the issues, I see that many of them included short stories about famous (or made-up) criminals and their doomed careers. That, more than the slightly lascivious Matt Baker art, is probably what put the PHANTOM LADY comic in the Wertham crosshairs, since nothing infuriated the good German doctor more than the idea that American youths were being converted to an ethic of criminality.
FOXY PHANTOM PT. 2
Of these four pages, only the last merits a little comment. In this weird tale, Phantom Lady investigates a country estate because a handful of women have been violently slain in the area. The estate is occupied by a man named Pfyffe, his sister Calla, and their midget retainer. The results of the investigation: the sister is a killer werewolf guilty of the murders, but Pfyffe is about to expose her publicly. The midget, who's in love with Calla, seeks to protect her by dressing up in the costume of a reptilian monster and clawing anyone who gets into Pfyffe's swimming pool (!) The phony monster eventually succeeds in killing Pfyffe but as Phantom Lady witnesses, the midget's reward is to be strangled to death by Calla with her purely-human-girl strength. And this isn't even one of the stories picked on by Frederic Wertham.
FOXY PHANTOM PT. 1
The negative attention given to Fox Features' PHANTOM LADY and her artist Matt Baker have become the stuff of legends, but how much licentiousness, bondage and violence actually appeared in those comics? I've already looked at all of PL's appearances in her other Fox-berth in ALL TOP COMICS, so we'll see if she was more impressive when she was a headliner (with "headlights," of course).
