GOLD AND SILVER SADISM

The manga KIN NO KANOJO GIN NO KANOJO-- translated in one reference to "Golden Girlfriend, Silver Girlfriend"-- focuses on the comical formula I've described elsewhere, in which a male's lustful attitude is constantly punished by female retaliations.

The first episode of KANOJO shows nervy male student Yasuda breaking into the "cloister" of rich girl Erika to declare his love despite the retinue of followers who usually surround the symbolic "princess." He manages to get Erika's attention before being tossed out by the followers.

Later that day, he soliloquizes about his plight at a local lake-temple. However, Erika comes there too, and she's unusually pissed off about being forced to remain in cloister her entire life. Yasuda interrupts her, she falls into the lake, and he just coincidentally pulls free her skirt trying to rescue Erika.

Then the chimerical deity of the lake decides that she's going to respond to Erika's conflict by splitting the girl into two exact copies of the original, except that now one has golden hair and the other, silver. This "solution" will in time force Yasuda to pay court to both damsels, and he will pay for his lustfulness again and again, even though no one can say he's a two-timer.
